Vox emerged from the monitor into his own ensuite at the Vees Tower. He had gathered up most of the tattered remains of his suit, but he knew there were pieces left in the filthy alley. Bending over with a mystical generated plug deep in his ass hadn’t been easy and he’d just hope they got kicked aside in the trash and muck to be lost.

He had work to do and a shower would wait until later after he received a card. Instead he just slipped into a lush navy and cyan robe and headed down to his office.

Focusing was not easy though while he felt so full, stretched over the thickness of that plug his lover had created just to keep him fully bred, aching, and too hard to try and work. Standing before the massive aquarium wall, he watched his precious sharks as they swam about in the darkness, replaying the night’s passion over and over again in his head.

Even as the door to his office swung open, casting a long swatch of bright light from the hallway… and a longer shadow down the middle of it. Vox tensed, waiting.

“One fucking week. He fucks off for seven damn years and it took less than seven fucking days before you’re bending over for him like a bitch in heat.”

Vox knew it was coming. Valentino’s sense of smell was acute, his knowledge of gossip immaculate. Vox never knew who he was getting information from in the tower. It was going to happen. He just wished he’d had one night of peace before the fighting started.

“In fairness, he held me against a wall. If that helps.”

It wouldn’t help. Sexually Vox and Valentino were mostly compatible but for one thing. Vox had never bottomed to Valentino, and he never would. That had been something he only did for one man, and seven years hadn’t changed that. It definitely wouldn’t change now.

“Fuck you, Vox.”

Vox sighed, turning to face the other sinner.

All he could see was the outline of the towering form, the broken antenna, the foreboding image he used to intimidate many. Vox wasn’t falling for that shit. The lights went up in his room with a thought, moving to adjust the collar on his robe, drawing it up over the claiming mark on his throat before he came around to lean carefully against the front corner of the desk. He folded his arms against his chest, trying to seem casual about it all even with the plug deep in his ass but at least that hard on had lessened.

“Val, it’s not as if we have ever been monogamous. You make that clear all the time.”

With Angel. With whatever new intern he was banging to get them on camera. They definitely weren’t monogamous, but this really was something else entirely. Vox knew that but he also knew how he had to handle Valentino.

“This is not the same and you know it,” Valentino snapped, pouting as he moved further into the room now that his dramatic shadow was taken from him. “This is not just some piece of ass. This is your ex!”

“If we’re being accurate, we never actually broke up,” he pointed out, his tones soft and even, none of the booming broadcaster voice in that moment.

“Your ex,” he repeats, stalking closer to Vox. “He disappeared for seven years, after doing this,” he snapped, reaching up and touching that mangled antenna. “He did that,” he added, pointing at Vox’s twisted matching damage on his hat. “And you’re just forgiving him.”

“Why do you care, Val? You don’t see me jumping down your throat about who you’re fucking, do you?”

“I’m not fucking someone that ripped out my heart. I’m not dating someone that tried to destroy me.”

Vox opens his mouth to say something, to argue that, but he isn’t sure what to say to that. Fuck.

Worse, the only thing he can think of is to point out that Angel would likely rip out Val’s heart given half a chance but that would only get Angel hurt because of his words. He didn’t know how to argue that.

Valentino saw that opening, moving in closer to Vox, sliding one hand over his partner’s arm. “I care because I was the one there for you after he attacked you,” he said softly, his voice tender and cooing to try and get into Vox’s good graces once more. “I’m the one that has been here for seven years with you. I’m the one that’s been taking care of you. I held you through the night when no one else was here for you.”

Both of the moth’s hands then slide along his arms, caressing over that soft material as he peers at Vox through those heart shaped glasses, ducking his gaze to look at him with a soft expression. “He left you. He abandoned you and I am the one that stayed here for you, Darling. I care because he makes you weak, and you are not meant to be a weak sinner but he will tear you down for his own desires.”

Another time, a night before he had his claiming mark reclaimed on his throat and those words might have worked. Not tonight.

Vox’s screen grows brighter, his left eye barely starting to swirl, subtle, as he straightened away from the desk, staring up into Val’s face.

“That’s it, Love. Come to bed with me and let me remind you who truly is there for you,” he cooe, sighing softly as Vox reached up to cup his face. “Yes, come with me, Darling.”

“Go to bed, Val,” he said, his voice firm but melodic, the brightness of his screen growing even more.

Val stared into his monitor, eyes wide but his pupils tiny pinpricks as the swirling of Vox’s eye reflected in the heart shaped lenses.

“Sleep and we’ll talk about this later.”

His fingers stroked against Val’s cheeks. He wasn’t wrong, he had been there for Vox and it was part of why he couldn’t just tell him to fuck off. And he needed him… just not to comfort him any longer or as a lover. Not when Alastor was back.

Val nodded and Vox walked him backwards towards the door. “Tomorrow we’ll deal with this but for now, go to sleep.”

Val turned and walked away.

Sighing, Vox closed and locked the door, turning back towards his desk.

One of the shadows to the side of his desk was still dark and deep despite the brightness of the lights. He stopped, watching the shadow, catching the soft sound of it. Proof that the shadows were alive again… and Alastor had seen that talk. He shouldn’t be surprised, and some part of him should be bothered, but he can’t help but to smile.

Name: Vox
Door: submissive month

Canon: Hazbin Hotel
Canon Point: the end of s01e08, the show must go on

Age: At his death, approx 40ish per word of god. Since his death, about 75 years
Appearance: Image here. About 7’ with a flat screen tv for a head, tall and lanky.

History: history here
CR AU (Optional): n/a

Personality:
Positive Trait: Charismatic:

On the surface, Vox is a charming demon with a bright, booming voice, a toothy, friendly smile (for a demon), and he has all the right words to keep the masses eating out of his clawed hands. This is shown time and again in his broadcasts that are the mainstay of media in the city, specifically designed by him that way. Broadcasts that mix scandalizing news with paparazzi stories meant to dazzle and mesmerize his viewers with his personality. A carefully crafted persona brought together from frenzied cult leader and slick televangelist stylings, even to the point of literally blasting the words obey and pray across the screen. Vox brings it all together into an intentionally spellbinding media personality that he uses in everything from print ads, posters and of course television… everything but radio that he loudly proclaims to all who will listen - and they all do because of his manipulative tricks - is outdated and behind the citizens of Hell.

It’s all a carefully groomed persona, worked on over the decades, to give him the magnetism he needs to get what he wants in Hell - to be a household name, the leader in innovation and products. He uses this charisma to bring together the demons of Pentagram City through his media business where he is the main face of VoxTek, broadcasting his programs to all of the city where he has ensured he is the only system to buy, the only products to use, and therefor is in every home and on every street corner. On screen and in person, he is gregarious in drawing in others, convincing them they need him and what he sells to make their life better in Hell; something he does through knowing the right words, using pretend generosity and empathy, and laying on the snake oil salesman charm.

When he turns on that full charm, he is the picture of a TV game show host mixed with the kind of cult leader that leads followers to where they already are, Hell. Through it all he has a way of making the people, well demons, feel that he is there for him and they eat it up. Throughout the series Vox turns on that charm for his own good, and it is a very practiced skill to bring others to him. While he has other skills to ensure he gets what he wants, the first one that Vox uses is that outgoing personality pretending to be a man of the people to steer things the way he wants; money, power, control.

Negative Trait: Manipulative:

While Vox shows himself to be charismatic, that carefully groomed persona is all a game he plays to get what he wants. It is the core part of how he is manipulating Hell as he likely did people in his life as easily as it comes to him. All of Vox’s life in Hell has been about getting what he wants out of everyone and everything. His charisma goes a long way to getting him there, charming the people into buying his company’s products and further building his empire with his partners, the Vees. That charm though is not all he has working for him. Vox leaves very little to chance and uses all he can to get people to do what he wants. Being a TV demon, he can broadcast himself into every tv set and video broadcast all across Pentagram City, thereby ensuring that his is the only voice getting out there. At least through television and anything that isn’t old and dated.

Even that can't be left to chance either. He has an "natural" form of hypnosis wherein he can use his left eye to draw in the masses and ensure their attention and their money on are on him. It's a skill he can use in person, such as when he uses it to get Valentino to behave or even over the screen through his broadcasts, letting him mass hypnotize everyone watching, and even ensure they are watching. He is seen more than once using this, both to get the people of Pentagram City to buy his products as well as to even ensure they listen to him while he degrades his returned rival.

Manipulation is second nature to Vox, often practicing it through charm and demands because what he is wants is more important than anything else. Fleecing the people is one thing and something he doesn't think about, but conscious choices are made to use Val, in his dealings with the council, and on who he is as the CEO and face of his own company. Who he truly is and what he is feeling is only ever seen in the moments when his façade cracks and the sparks, literally, fly.

Negative Trait: Power Hungry:

All that Vox does is to feed his hunger for power and rankings, even if there is only so far a sinner can rise in the ranks of Hell. He has ensured that he is the main, and really only, name in modern technology. His company covers television, security cameras, entertainment (especially through his partner’s porn studio), electronics, fashion, and even food - don't forget your Voot Loops for breakfast. Nothing stops him from providing for the masses, so long as they're showering him in money and attention; even going as far as making up new projects on the spot. Even if he has no idea how to make them work, just so long as the people are paying him for it. This led to creating VoxTek Angelic Security to calm people down over the exterminations. At the time no one is entirely sure how to protect against the extermination angels but he’ll ensure the demons think they can. He will build anything, bigger and better, if it gets him where he wants to be. At the top.

That hunger led to him forming the Overlord group known as the Vees with Valentino and Velvette, knowing that bringing them together would give them a stronger powerbase with backing to support his image. He works with the other Overlords knowing that there’s strength in numbers, even if he holds very little respect for them and thinks he’s better than most of them. That doesn't mean he isn't above manipulating them to get what he wants, even if his partner's short temper endangers that.

This hunger is also a main part of the driving force behind his jealousy, and pretty much twisted obsession, with Alastor. The Radio Demon is the only demon Vox deals with that has the ability and skills to draw the masses away from Vox, even if he won’t admit that’s why he’s so aggressive towards Alastor in particular. Yet in the song, Stayed Gone, he talks about that Alastor's absence opened the door for them to "pivot" to video, finally giving him the opening he needed to build his empire and with the Radio Demon back, he knows that could all crumble.

Negative Trait: Temperamental:

For decades Vox has shaped his entire personality around being the best, the one that everyone pays attention to, and in his mind he’s the center of their world there in the city. He’s charged by electricity though, and his personality is just as easy to spark and blow out as the power is. He can literally change moods like a switch, whether he wants to or not, and in those moments he can't always hide it. Most often though it’s utterly when he doesn’t want to, losing control of his emotions and his powers often where others can see and hear. When lost in these moods, he often says things he doesn't mean to.

When the Radio Demon returns and interrupts his broadcast, Vox ends up shorting out the entire city in his rage, first knocking himself and then everyone offline. Dealing with Valentino, someone he’s involved with but who he is also constantly manipulating, sometimes sets him off despite the smile on his face as seen by the sparks of electricity along his fingers and at his feet. It’s not only anger and frustration though that show his mercurial moods. During the battle with Heaven - which he and the Vees stayed out of, watching it from home like it was an action movie and not their lives hanging in the balance - he gets so overly excited that he makes several proclamations he might not regularly say (Especially in front of the demon he’s banging) about how much he was enjoying the fight and sexually aroused by it, especially watching his rival being beaten.

For someone that has created a very specific image around him that he projects to the world, Vox finds it hard to hold on to his emotions, especially when things don’t go his way. That temperamental nature is the true crack in his charismatic persona, something he is constantly working to hold on to but he isn’t always able to hide in circumstances like he’ll find in the city, something he’ll be working hard to find balance in.

Powers and Abilities: All abilities linked to the network will be curbed as being barely able to connect to the system. He can do so with the device network more, but with the television and such in the city, he won't be able to find a true connection and will hit firewalls trying to make that link.

  • Electrokinesis: The ability to control electricity. He draws on that power as well, and can even cause power outages in his rage. The city is going to cause him issues being a bit older technology and his cutting edge upgrades will help to curb this ability to keep inline with the game.
  • Electronkinetic Transmutation: Basically he can convert to energy and travel by electrical lines. Where he starts from and goes to must have modern visual technology to use this. In game he will have a hard time with this, and with time working with the city’s technology might manage it again.
  • Technokinesis: He has the ability to control electronic devices whether he’s inside of them or from the outside
  • Electrical spark generations: He can intentionally create a spark at his fingertips, all over his body, or even sparking along the floor at his feet.
  • Technological Head: Because Vox is a TV demon, his head is both an electrical extension as well as an extension of his strength as a demon. Through the head he can use bioluminescence to attract certain species, as well as bring focus to his eye during hypnosis. It also allows him to take calls and play video games. When plugged in, he can use the monitor to watch others, tracking them using devices about the area, something he may one day learn in Duplicity but won’t have right away.
  • Hypnosis: Only capable if the victim is focusing on him, and can be used to get their attention, get them to buy things, or to even forget he’s there.
  • Acoustokinesis: Vox can adjust his voice to be softer, more charismatic, end even more intimidating as well as generating sound effects.

this is better than sex

Hazbin Hotel is a very large series of trigger warnings. They include but aren't limited to: sexual violence, sexual assault, violence, death, life and death themes, hell, noncon, dubcon, drugged sex, involuntarily being drugged, forced sexual scenes, pornography, massive amounts of profanity, cannibalism, alcohol, drugs, murder, gore, twisted religious iconography, pornography, domestic type violence, manipulation, mental abuse, addiction, dead animals, anthropomorphized snake and spider. Further info can be found does the dog die.

That said, the player completely understands if anyone for any reason wishes to opt out of playing with Vox, even if it's just finding the tv screen weird. You can also feel free to just say you would rather certain things are not brought up.

Vox also has a hypnosis ability that needs eye contact through his personal monitor or any screen to use, with intent. So yes this could be used over the device as well.

Spicy Details: Always fine with ftb, or skipping to post sex things. I tend to be flowery and kind of purple prosey in my writing, and can by filthy in speech. Tend to use straight forward terms, but can avoid words if asked. Vox is a bisexual switch sinner so few things are off limits, and only then because I don't enjoy writing them. Ping the player if interested in something not listed. Also, banter is foreplay, the crueler sometimes the better.
